Ericeira, a (surfer’s) paradise

Another family and friends trip. We did not take the queen but another lady for her 90th birthday to a long weekend in Ericeira. What a great choice…and we’ll be back to try the surfing!

A small fishermen’s village, with beautiful little houses a nice promenade along the beach. Obviously we enjoyed great sea food: Octopus it was for me, clams and salmon for my companions. Furthermore we stayed in the most beautiful flat with a fabulous terrace and a great view (if you drop me a note, I promise I will share the details).

Ericeira is also just a short drive from Cabo da Roca, the most Western point of continental Europe, through the nature park of Cascais-Sintra. You cannot even imagine how lucky you are to see this plaque without anyone in front. I had to fight for it!

We left out Sintra this time but had a stroll through Cascais instead where we got heavily showered by the announced rain which had held back all day.

Judge by yourself if the trip to Ericeira is worth it:
